Back in April we took a Field Trip to Dempsey Farms with our MOPS group to pick Strawberries. The JClan and I picked about 17lbs of Strawberries for $24. I cut most of them up and bagged them for the freezer to use as needed for smoothies, cerel, oatmeal, and snacks. But before I did that I made some Homemade Strawberry Jam.
Homemade Strawberry Jam
4C - chopped Strawberries
1pkg - Ball Fruit Pectin Freezer Jam
1C - Sugar (haven't tried raw sugar or making it with honey instead of sugar)
In Blender add Strawberries, Pectin and Sugar and Blend. Pour into 5-8oz Freezeable Jars (or containers) and put in Freezer.
When you are ready to use, put in Fridge to thaw.
We just ran out of our last store bought Jam this week, so we opened up our 1st jar of Homemade Jam for PB&Js. It was delicious. The JClan really enjoyed it too. I made PB&Js on whole wheat bread, which usually get fed to Camo after lunch b/c The JClan picks all the PB and J off the bread. But this time they didn't do that, they ate the whole sandwich and then asked for more!
